Black Mental Health
Part of our foundation’s mission statement is to raise awareness for mental health issues crippling our community. We want to help overcome the stigma by shifting the narrative surrounding mental health care and end the cycle of intergenerational trauma being passed down.
Our goal is to create spaces for people to be venerable and true to themselves while also addressing the systematic racism the affects the progression of treatment as well. We want the world to know that asking for help does not make you weak and it does that make you soft. It makes you human.
In 2023 we will be releasing a short documentary on mental health in the black community titled “ When Did You Know?”. The documentary will shed a light on the stigma surrounding mental health in the black community and help raise awareness on the issue. We hope to evoke conversation and help fight for those facing silent battles.
